Welcome to EduSF.com, The Online Education Homepage

Over the last few years there has been a massive boom in online education. Distance learning is nothing new but the internet has completely changed the game. The days when studying off campus meant you alone with a book are long gone. Nowadays online education is a very interactive experience that really isn't that much different than being in the classroom. If you are considering an online degree there are a few things that you are going to want to keep in mind to make sure that it is a good choice for you.

The first thing that you are going to have to think about if you are considering an online degree is if it is really a good idea. There are a lot of good reasons that you may want to get an online degree, they are a great way to advance your career. But there are also some reasons that an online degree may not be a good option for you. In fact its biggest advantage is also its biggest disadvantage. An online degree allows for flexible scheduling so that you can get your degree without having to quit your job. The problem is that the flexible scheduling puts the onus on you to keep yourself motivated and on schedule. This is something that a lot of people struggle with. Unless there is somebody there to tell them to do the work many people won't. You need to honestly assess how likely you are to get your work done before you enrol in an online degree program.

If you have decided that an online degree is a good choice for you the next step is to decide what you want to study. This is something that you should think about before you decide where you want to study. Most schools have fairly limited offerings for their online programs. Some subjects like business are widely available while others are going to require you to look around to find a school that offers the subject. By and large it will be easier to find professional degrees than it will be to find a liberal arts degree. Sciences are particularly hard to find.

Once you have decided what you want to study you are going to have to decide which online college to choose. Depending on what you want to study you may have a lot of options or very few. The absolute most important thing when considering an online college is the accreditation. There are all kinds of different accreditations that a school may have the only one that matter is regional accreditation. This is the gold standard and it was you should be looking for. A lot of people will try to argue in favour of schools that aren't regionally accredited but given the number of options available that are there is really no reason to consider a school that isn't.
